ChakraView Social, Serious Game

Serious games are simulations of real-world events or processes designed for the purpose of solving a problem. Although serious games can be entertaining, their main purpose is to train or educate users. Serious games are games with different social purposes.

Serious Game may be defined as a mental contest, played with a computer in accordance with specific rules that uses entertainment to further government or corporate training, education, health, public policy, and strategic communication objectives.

Serious games are aimed for a large variety of audiences. A serious game is not a simulation alone. It may be a simulation combined with elements of game-play. The games are made to provide an engaging, self-reinforcing context in which to motivate, educate and train the players. Intrinsic motivation is another feature provided by serious games that facilitates education. The dynamic nature of virtual environments also causes active participation by the player.

ChakraView is a game aimed at training individuals and organizations who need to deal with the soul shattering issue of farmer suicides across India and the World.

Why play ChakraView?

Since all of us do not have an inside perspective of a farmers’ life and the hardships they go through throughout their lives, we designed ChakraView by using real life data developed by field researchers. The simulated reality environment thus created gives users an opportunity to live a farmer’s life, cultivate crops, suffer from unpredictable weather conditions and pest attacks, go through health problems of family members, daughter’s marriage that create additional financial burden and so on.

This ultimately provides an insightful learning platform especially for the younger generation who is inspired to work with NGOs, Government organizations, Charitable trusts, etc. for a specific social cause related to Livelihood and other domains.
